Mr. Hermon Hugie was born on February 2, 1942 in South Carolina. He departed this life on July 22, 2023.
Hermon attended Walterboro High School in South Carolina. He lived in Newark, NJ most of his adult life and worked as a mechanic at the shop in Newark which he owned. Hermon lived a full life and enjoyed his friends and hanging out there each and every day even when he retired.
Hermon was to married Marquita Hugie who preceded him in death. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Hermon is preceded in death by: his father, Albert Hugie; his mother, Evelyna H. Gieger; his brother, Hezekiah Hugie; and sister, Alice Smith.
Hermon leaves to carry on his legacy: two siblings, Gloria Jerido and Albert Hugie Jr.(Rachel); his children, Kenny Smith (Star), Hermon Griffen, Eric Kilgore, Jackie Hill Hosten (Richard) and Wanda Griffen; his grandchildren, Shauntez Hill, Lashawne Hill, Harry Sisco, Jabriel Sisco, Armani Harris, Sharif Harris, Marius Griffen, and six great grands; an aunt, Sue Fishburne; a cousin, Jeane Greene; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Sherian Walker and Irene Day.
