Herschel “Harold” A. Hazan of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on November 18, 2023, at the age of 70. He was born in Los Angeles, CA, on May 5, 1953, to parents, Isadore and Lucille (Levin) Hazan. After high school Herschel enlisted in the Army in 1971 as an Combat engineer during the Vietnam era and cook during Operation Desert Shield. He was an avid card player, who enjoyed playing gin, spades, poker, blackjack, and many more. Herschel could be caught watching WWE matchups or Law and Order SVU. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Herschel married Julia on July 6, 2000, they spent 23 wonderful years together, she survives. He is survived by children, Tara Hazan, Jennifer (Josh) Carrender, Elizabeth (Steven) Vaughn, Cecily Hazan, Wiliam “Kenny” (Tiffany) Smith; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Shoshana Plotkin, Elieen Foster; Adopted sister, Lisa Fisher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Marty.
Visitation will be held from 2pm until 4pm, Monday, November 27, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN). A Funeral Service will be held at 4pm, Monday, November 27, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East.
