Herschel Phillips Obituary
Herschel Don Phillips of McLeansboro Illinois, passed away on December 15th at home. Born on January 7th 1944 in Norris City to Alva & Ruth Phillips. He was the beloved husband of Kathy Ellyn Phillips and devoted parent of Doug (Angie) Phillips of Dulac Louisiana. Angie (Harold) Green of Summerfield FL. Kevin Phillips of Benton IL. Wesley (Marcie) Phillips of Enfield IL. Kora (Butch) Webber of Benton IL. Ryan Nalley of Benton IL. Mike (Kay) Phillips of Grayville IL. Raven (William) Stutts of Benton IL. His beloved "boys" Socrates & Attila Stutts, and many adored grand and great grandchildren and siblings, Doris Guinn, Vera Zigler, Ailene Anderson, Sylvia Johnson, Barbara Brooks and Kathy Brooks. Along with his very special friend Jay Culbertson. Herschel is preceded in death by daughter Donna Phillips, Alva & Ruth Phillips, and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Herschel Don Phillips, of McLeansboro will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2024 at Powell General Baptist Church in Norris City. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery with full military rites by the Carmi American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Powell General Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Herschel's memory to the Carmi American Legion or Carmi VFW and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is assisting the family with arrangements.
