Hershel Taylor Obituary
Roxana - Hershel Allan Taylor, 77 of Roxana passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 11, 1948 to William Thomas and Lucy Marie (Peak) Taylor in Dyess, AR.
He married Cindy Rangel September 19, 2020 in South Roxana.
Hershel was a small business owner and served in the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Taylor of Roxana; two sons, Jason (Misty) Taylor of Jerseyville and Brian (Brandy) Taylor of O'Fallon, MO; daughter Melissa (Art) Atkinson of Godfrey; bonus children, Angie (James) Smith of Wood River, Anna Newell of East Alton, and Kyle Batson (Tiffany) of Wood River; grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Mason Atkinson; Corey, Chase, Mackenzie Taylor; Matthew, Wyatt, Gatlin Taylor; Cindy, Brittany, Zachary, Chris, Tabitha, Haylee, Lucas, Theo, Ryan, Isaiah and Livie; brother, Wayne (Mary Lou) Taylor of Eddyville, KY and Sharon (Randy) Bradley of Hillsboro, MO.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Brenda Joyce (Hilyard) Taylor and bonus son, Cory Coolbaugh.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11 am until the time of services at 1 pm. Friday February 13, 2026 at Crosspoint Church, 4539 Wanda Rd, Edwardsville. Burial will be at Medora Cemetery.
