Hilda E. Berry, of Covington, age 101, passed away October 29, 2025, at her home in Almon surrounded by her family. Ms. Berry was a one-of-a-kind Grandmama and an angel from above. She worked at C.R. Bard and Lawrence David for many years and was one of the best cooks around. She always enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Ms. Berry was the proud owner of Berry's Christmas Tree Farm in Covington, and she looked forward to all the fun on the farm each year. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, C.H. Berry, Jr., and her parents, Arthur Decatur Ewing and Mary Tommie (Smith) Ewing.
Hilda is survived by her children, Charles and Jeanette Berry and Linda Berry; grandchildren Chuck and Lori Berry, Christy and Scoot Allen, Matt and Mary Tumlin, Mark and Kelly Tumlin; great-grandchildren Chase Berry, Anslee Allen, Hartlee Allen, Taylor and Amanda McCart, Nathan McCart and family, Cru Tumlin; nieces Cindy and Ronnie Stapp, Linda and Jimmy Patrick; nephew Douglas and Denny Ewing along with many other family and friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Berry will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11 o'clock at Shiloh Methodist Church at Almon, 10 Almon Church Road, Covington, GA with Reverend Mike Wadley officiating. Friends may visit the family on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home, 2157 East Street, SE, Covington, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ms. Berry's memory to Shiloh Methodist Church at Almon or the Georgia FFA Foundation, 720 FFA FHA Camp Road, Covington, GA 30014.
