Hilda Earl Ferguson Booth, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Pinehurst Health and Rehabilitation.
A native of Moore County, Hilda spent much of her life in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Arthur C. "Red" Ferguson and Estelle Henry Ferguson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Booth; her brothers, Wooten and Roland Ferguson; and her sister, Jane McKinney.
Hilda proudly served her country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following her military service, she dedicated her career to helping others as a counselor at Richland Hospital in Columbia, S.C. Hilda had a deep love for travel and embraced every opportunity to explore the world. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering dedication to those she served and loved.
Hilda is survived by her brother, Happy Ferguson of Carthage; several loved nieces and nephews; and her sweet fur baby, Bella. The family would also like to thank the many hands that were involved with her healthcare these past few months.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Eureka Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Military rites will be provided by the United States Navy.
