Hilda Merced-Torres Obituary
She was born to Juan Merced and Amalia Torres on the sunrise of August 6, 1933 in Puerto Rico. Hilda was a bridal seamstress for many years. She resided in Puerto Rico, New York, Fort Myers, FL and Port Charlotte. She enjoyed reading, especially the bible, loved cooking, going to church and shopping. She was a faithful supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Hilda loved GOD and his people. She was a member of Cristo La Senda Church in Ft. Myers, FL and of El Centro Cristiano El Calvario in Port Charlotte. Her biggest disappointment was that she was not a good dancer. Hilda was a beautiful mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Survivors include her loving children, Aida Fuentes of Port Charlotte and Jorge Luis Segarra of Alba, FL; grandchildren, Carlos A. Morales, Louis (Vicky) Morales, Jorge L. (Carmella) Segarra, Jr, Robert (Stephanie) Segarra, Joel (Jannette) Gonzalez and Lissette (Jack) Marlow; her great grandchildren, Agustin Segarra, Sophia Segarra, Olivia Segarra, Cianna Gonzalez, Dayanna Marlow, Aidan Marlow, Leiah Marlow and Joelito Gonzalez and her many nephews, nieces and cousins and many friends and faithful family. She was preceded in death by her husband and her previous husband, Ismael Ortiz and Luis Segarra; sister, Concepcion (Conchita) Merced and her grandson, Louis Morales.
A Graveside service will be held soon at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, FL. Officiants will be Pastor Aida Fuentes and Pastor Perfecto Raposo. Memorial contributions may be made to GoFundMe-Hilda Merced-Torres.
