Her Legacy… Hilda Margaret Maud Winans, 94, passed away November 16, 2025. She was born on July 9, 1931, in London, England to Albert Franklin and Nellie (Gatty) Franklin. Hilda married the love of her life, William Winans, on October 14, 1952 in New York City, New York. Hilda will be remembered as someone who lived a long and remarkable life. Raised during the bombings of World War II, she learned early the value of strength and perseverance. Her life changed forever when she met William while he was serving as an Air Force Military Police officer. After their meeting, Hilda crossed the Atlantic Ocean to join him in New York City, beginning a new chapter with him. Hilda was gifted seamstress, she worked for Ford doing upholstery, where her skill and precision were well regarded. Even in her later years, she continued to sew, creating, mending, and contributing at the senior living center. Hilda loved gardening, she enjoyed bowling, playing cards, knitting, and traveling, always finding delight in shared experiences and new adventures. Animals held a special place in her heart. She will be deeply missed by her family and loved ones.

Her Family… Hilda will be missed by her children, Daniel (Christine) Winans, Kenneth Winans, Diana (William) Gorley, Jean (Steven) Peplinski; grandchildren, Peter (Kristen) Winans, Regan (Travis) Gilshire, Emily Winans, Brandon Gorley, Andrew (Patricia) Gorley, Heather (Jordan) Foon, and Matthew (Rebecca) Peplinski; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews all around the world. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Winans, her parents Albert and Nellie Franklin, five sisters, and three brothers.
