Richard Francis Winans: January 3, 1955 – November 8, 2025

Richard Francis Winans, 70, of Conway, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Born on January 3, 1955, in Ohio, Rick was the son of the late Francis James Winans and Marian (Thompson) Winans. He was a proud graduate of Newton Falls High School.

Rick dedicated four decades of his life to his work as a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer, retiring in 2022. More important than his career, however, was his deep devotion to his family and his well-known good nature.

In 1976, he married the love of his life, Kathryn (Skiba) Winans, and together they built a beautiful family.

Rick was a man of strong morals and principles who faithfully believed in always helping others. He truly"never knew a stranger," and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a true craftsman and enthusiast who enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including fishing, motorcycling, hunting, and working as an automotive enthusiast and talented carpenter.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Marian Winans; and his siblings, Marie Latimer, Bob Winans, David McVicker, Raymond Winans, Lawrence Winans, Donna Conners, and Danny Winans.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kathryn Winans; his children, Raymond Winans of Conway, SC, Jeremy Winans and his wife Jennifer of Clarksville, TN, and Hope Winans of Lexington, KY. He leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren: Aaron Winans, Avery Winans, Savannah Lammonds, Addisyn Winans, Eli Winans, Roman Winans, Ariel Winans, and Scarlett Clem.

Rick is also survived by his beloved siblings: Bessie Thorpe, Barb Hopkins and husband Scott, Susie-Evelyn Barricella and husband Sam, Harold Winans, Lori Zuzolo, Jeanette Slone, and Scott Winans.

He leaves behind countless loving nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever cherish his kindness and strong spirit.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Rick's life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at: Myrtle Beach Funeral Home 4505 US Highway 17 Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
