Hildegard E. Olbrich

Hildegard E. Olbrich (nee Simon) of Summit, NJ passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the age of 94.
The memorial visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, NJ on Friday, July 19th, from 4-7 PM. The funeral mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 20th, at St. Teresa of Avila Church's Memorial Hall (located on Morris Avenue directly across the street from the main church. Parking is available in the main church lot). Burial of ashes will follow at St. Teresa's Cemetery, Summit.
Hildegard was born in Frankfurt, Germany, the daughter of the late Wilhelmina (nee Zimmermann) and Georg Simon, and was raised in Hofheim, A. Taunus, Germany. She had emigrated from Germany and came to live in the United States, settling in Summit, NJ where she had resided since 1952.
Hildegard was a longtime active parishioner of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Summit where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Summit Senior Citizens. Hildegard loved gardening and traveling. She enjoyed quiet time reading the newspaper and took frequent trips to see shows at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn.
Hildegard was extremely devoted to her family. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Joseph Olbrich. She is survived by her loving son Herbert Olbrich and his wife Barbara Papetti; his cherished grandchildren, Konrad Olbrich, Morgan Olbrich and his wife Jordan, and Leah Olbrich as well as her step-grandchildren, Anthony, Christina, and Nicole Papetti.
