St. Martinville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 29, 2025 at Notre Dame Catholic Church honoring the life of Hillery W. Peltier, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, dear sister, beloved aunt and wonderful friend, who passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025 at the age of 71.
A visitation will take place at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Monday from 8:00 AM until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM.
For 49 devoted years of marriage, she shared a deep and enduring bond with her beloved husband, Roland. Together, they built a life filled with warmth, faith, laughter, and steadfast love to one another and their family. As a mother to her three daughters, she was patient, selfless, and endlessly supportive-always placing the needs of her children before her own. She was their everything because she guided them with patience and compassion, leaving behind lessons of resilience, integrity, and kindness that will continue to shape their lives. As a grandmother to her six grandchildren, her joy multiplied; her gentle guidance, warm embraces, and cherished love created memories her grandchildren will hold close forever. As a sister, aunt, friend and to those who knew her, she was a steady presence and a source of warmth.
She found joy in the simple moments--tending to her garden and found her greatest joy in time spent with her family. Her faith in Christ was central to her life and she prayed daily, drawing strength and peace from her relationship with God. She was strong and always kind, loving, and generous of heart.
Though her absence leaves a profound emptiness, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Roland Peltier; daughters, Clarisse Guillory (Jeremy), Karen Thomas (Christopher, Sr.) and Kathryn Peltier Batiste (Lionel); grandchildren, Christopher Thomas, Jr., Madison Guillory, Taylor Guillory, Ashton Thomas, Jackson Guillory and Jefferson Guillory; siblings, Charles Wiltz (Judy), Carolyn August (Richard), Christopher Wiltz, Bertha W. Alexander (Joseph), Valerie LeBlanc (John) and Daniel Wiltz, MD; godchildren, Richard August, Jr. and Tricia Wiltz, who will carry forward her legacy of compassion, resilience, and love.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Robertson Wiltz; and her in-laws Curley and Alfreda Peltier.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Guillory, Christopher Thomas, Sr., Lionel Batiste, Charles Wiltz, Christopher Wiltz and Dr. Daniel Wiltz.
Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Thomas, Jr., Ashton Thomas, Jackson Guillory, Jefferson Guillory, Richard August, Sr., Joseph Alexander, John LeBlanc and Richard August Jr.
Though she is no longer with us, Hillery's love remains-woven into every life she touched and every heart that holds her memory. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the clergy, church family, and friends whose prayers and presence were a source of strength. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to all those who offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
