Hobart Taylor Obituary

Hobart Edgar "Ed" Taylor, Jr.

Hobard Edgar "Ed" Taylor, Jr., 72, of Spotsylvania, Va., passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, October 6, 2025.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Susan; sons, Steven and Hobie; and his adoring daughter-in-law, Amanda. He was preceded in death by his son, Lucas, and daughter, Kellie. He is also survived by his brother, David; and sisters, Nancy, Dottie, Janet, Bonna, and Joyce.

Ed was a man of quiet spirit with a kind and compassionate heart. He was adored by all who knew him and never met a stranger he didn't like. Fishing, family game night, westerns, and scratch lottery tickets were his favorite pastimes.

A service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, Va. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
