Hobert Goins Obituary
Mr. Hobert H. Goins, age 92 of Tazewell, passed away December 26, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Middlesboro, Ky. August 27, 1933, to John and Katherine Goins who precede him in death. Hobert was saved at the age of 19 and was a member of Youngs Chapel Baptist Church. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his son Terry Goins, parents John and Katherine Goins, brothers Herbert Goins and David Goins, sisters Mae McMurry, Ruby Wallace, Shirley Dyer and Peggy Irvin.
Hobert is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Nora Goins, children James Goins and wife Donna, Roger Goins and wife Teresa, Sandra Tharp and Sherry Rutherford. He is survived by his brother Chester Goins, sister Thelma Keck and special friend Sherwin Seals, 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren as well as a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Monday December 29, 2025, from 5:00pm till 7:00pm in the Claiborne ~ Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Johnny Brown, Rev. Junior Snelson and Rev. Kenny Clark officiating. Music will be provided by Old Yellow Creek #2 Singers. Burial will follow Tuesday December 30, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the Hooper Cemetery.
Pallbearers: James Goins, Roger Goins, David Hipshire, Bradely Hipshire, Isaiah Hipshire and Johnny Thomas.
Honorary Pallbearers: Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
