Holly Livingston Obituary
Holly R. Livingston, loving husband, father, grandpa and brother, 76, of Rockford, passed away on "his couch", surrounded by his family May 14, 2021. He was born on August 30, 1944 in Rockford to Hollis and Ruth (Covert) Livingston. Holly graduated from Auburn High School in 1963. He married Joann Schiro August 14, 1965 in St. Edward's Catholic Church. Holly was employed with Nicor Gas for 33 years. He was a member of the Rockford Lithuanian Club. Holly had a passion for coaching the Boy's Club basketball and baseball teams for many years. He was an avid Chicago Bears, White Sox and Notre Dame fan. He enjoyed playing cards, especially poker and playing softball.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joann Livingston; children, Doug (Kim) Livingston, Danielle (Oscar) Livingston-Murillo and Derek (Jessica) Livingston; grandchildren, Nicole, Nolan, Adam, Andrew, Amanda, Max, Isabelle, Hannah, Gavin, Ella, Blake and Cameron; great-grandchildren, Makenzi, Ava Rae and Emmett and sisters, Patty Meiers and Joan Schwanke. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Michael, Ronnie and Leon Livingston and sister, Toots Lindgren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, IL 61111. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Luncheon to follow. What a wonderful man. We played softball together, we coached baseball and basketball together, we played cards together. Holly and JoAnne were a fun part of our life for so many years. They raised 3 fine kids. Two of them ( Doug and Dereckplayed sports on my teams and both were super employees and hard workers under me at the Rockford Park District Sportscore. So many enjoyable times and memories that I will never forget. RIP, Holly or as I called him The Oz
