It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Holly Sciarpelletti on December 26th, 2025. A remarkable woman loved by family and friends alike. Her loss is being felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Holly was born at Oak Knoll Naval Hospital, Oakland, CA July 2, 1970, to Penny and Anthony J. Sciarpelletti. She was raised in Sayville, Long Island with her brother J. C. Sciarpelletti. She was a 1988 graduate of Sayville High School. Then she later moved her own family to Lebanon, TN.
Holly was the beloved daughter of Anthony J. and Penny Sciarpelletti, and a fiercely dedicated mother to Katie Hutchinson Murrell (Mike) and Anthony Hutchinson. Supporting them through every life stage as a source of wisdom and comedic relief. One of her greatest joys was her grandson Zayn Edward Murrell. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
Holly lived a life rooted in compassion and service. She went out of her way, every chance she got, to make sure others were taken care of—often quietly, never seeking recognition. Extending from her personal life to professional life. Holly worked as an exceptional education one on one ancillary for the Wilson County school system. She worked at several different schools over a 24-year span impacting everyone she met.
When Holly wasn’t at work or spending time with her family, she was participating in community events or vacationing. She was an avid beach goer, always sinking her toes into the sand with a book in hand.
Holly’s memory will be forever cherished by Holly’s family, friends, students and colleagues. We will honor her memory by living lives filled with the same joy she brought to us.
She is survived by parents, Anthony J. and Penny Sciarpelletti, brother J. C. Sciarpelletti, daughter Katie (Mike) Murrell, son Anthony Hutchinson, and grandson Zayn Murrell.
Visitation will be at Bond Memorial Chapel on Friday 1/9 from 5-8pm, additional visitation will be Saturday 1/10 from 11-12. Funeral at Bond Memorial Chapel at 12pm Saturday 1/10. The burial will be held at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens at 1pm.
A celebration of life will follow at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Old Hickory at 2pm in the lower hall room.
In honor of Holly, donations can be made to Empower Me of Lebanon, a non-profit organization focused on transforming the lives of individuals with disabilities, or flowers may be purchased on her behalf. For more information on how to donate, please visit https://www.empowermecenter.com/
