olly Carol Stakem, 64, of Steelton, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday evening, February 27, 2024 at her home.
Holly was born in Takoma Park, Maryland on April 1, 1959. She was a graduate of Williams Valley High School.
She was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation, for over 20 years. She was looking forward to her retirement on April 1st.
Holly will be remembered for having such a big personality in such a little body, her laugh was infectious. She loved her children with all her heart, and could often be found talking about them to friends and strangers alike. She enjoyed her shopping trips and never met an animal she didn't like, from her dogs and cats to feeding the squirrels in the her yard. She enjoyed the simple things in life and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian Stakem, 1983 and a brother Noel Challenger, 2013.
She is survived by her mother, Jacqueline Williams Challenger, Illinois; her two children, Carol Stakem and Joe Stakem, both of Steelton; a grandson Chase Stakem, Hummelstown; a sister, Ivy Drum and her husband Jim, Williamstown, a brother, Eric Challenger and his wife Stacey, Illinois. Holly is also survived by her former husband Kerry Stakem and his wife, Sue, who were great friends to Holly for many years. Several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Holly's life will be announced in the near future.
