Mr. Homer Ives Bowden Jr.

Homer Ives Bowden Jr., 80, Brookfield, passed away Tuesday December 27, 2011 at Life Care Centers Of Brookfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday December 30, 2011 at Rhodes Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Myers officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Thursday December 29, 2011 at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Homer Ives Jr. was born on October 02, 1931 at Brookfield, son of Homer Ives Sr. and Rose McClelland Bowden. On December 26, 1951 he was married to Betty Jo Burgener. She preceded him in death on December 12, 1992. He was the fourth generation of the Bowden family to do business in Brookfield, and retired in November 2009. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. Mr. Bowden is survived by a son, Douglas Bowden, Osage Beach; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Bob Wessing, Brookfield; two grandchildren, Michael Wessing, Brookfield, and Molly Kuebler and husband Tim; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Baylee Kuebler, Kearney; and a special friend, Shirley Ewing, Brookfield. He is also preceded in death by his parents.
