Honora Annette Blanton died peacefully in the early morning of January 11th, surrounded by her family. Honora was a woman of deep kindness, unwavering generosity, and steadfast faith. She loved God with her whole heart and lived her life guided by that love. Family was everything to Honora, and nothing brought her greater joy than her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild, who were truly the light of her life.
Honora was an incredible friend-loyal, intelligent, and full of fun-with a rare gift for making everyone feel important, valued, and deeply loved. Her warmth and sincerity left a lasting impression on all who were blessed to know her. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and a profound sense of belonging.
She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Thomas Blanton; her son, Mark Blanton; her grandson, William "Zack" Smith; her siblings Winifred Smith, Shaun Smith, Walter Smith, Gregory Smith, Mary Lou Brandt, and Theresa Smith; and her cherished parents, William and Harriet Smith.
Honora leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted family. She is survived by six of her children: Heather Hendershott; husband Christopher, Myrnee Blair; husband Paul, Courtnee Simonson; husband Gregory, Amber Civitarese; husband Richard, Bret Blanton; wife Margaret, and Tanner Blanton. Sixteen grandchildren: Mindy, Dillon, Jordan, Brendan, Madisson, Parker, Paul, Gregory Jr., Avery, Foster, Carter, Piper, Bret "Easton", and Ryser. Four great-grandchildren: Grayson, Isabelle, Eva, and Silas. One great- great grandchild: Ford.
Honora's life was a testament to faith, love, loyalty, and devotion to family. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched and in the generations who will continue to feel her love.
Honora will be interred at Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery on January 23, 2026, at 2:10 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Plano Bible Chapel, 1900 Shiloh Road,
Plano, TX 75074, at 11:00 a.m. on January 24, 2026. In lieu of flowers Honora requested donations be made to Tunnel to Towers. https://t2t.org
