Phyllis Hope Kimmer, who embodied unconditional love for her family and all who knew her, passed away peacefully at her home in Westmoreland, TN, on August 24, 2025. She was 74.

Born September 4, 1950, Hope built her life on family and faith. For 43 years, she was the devoted wife and best friend of her soulmate, the late Joel Gregg Kimmer, Sr. Though he passed in 2018, she often said, "he's always here with me."

Hope's world revolved around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was their fiercest champion, softest place to land, and constant source of support. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and by her cherished daughter, Melissa Paige Doughty.

Her legacy lives on through her sister, Faith McCoy (Larry) of Gallatin, TN; her son, Joel Gregg Kimmer, Jr. (Emily) and their children, Samantha Elizabeth and Benjamin Thomas, of Louisville, KY; her three granddaughters, Elizabeth Hope, Emilie Paige, and Olivia Erin; and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Hope will be remembered for her boundless love and determination to live life fully. Whatever the circumstance, she faced it with tenacity.

Following a private family visitation, friends are invited to gather at Sellars Heritage Family Funeral Home in Gallatin, TN, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. True to her spirit, Hope asked that this time be filled with joy, not sorrow. If Hope holds true to form, she will be at least 1 hour late for her own visitation and service.

She will then be laid to rest in a private committal in Floral, Arkansas, reunited at last with her beloved Joel. After 7 years of waiting, she will finally be back home.
