I knew Howard's father and mother here in Milford. I became good friends with Mr. Bingham when I came to Milford in 1966 to teach shop classes in the high school. Florence was still working part time as a janitor in his 80's and would come into the shop to sweep the floors. I would generally still be there and had many good talks with him. This was at a time when his wife was not doing well healthwise. He was worried she wood soon die. Ironically he passed before she did. He worked very hard for the school district cleaning and maintaining 3 large school buildings by himself. There were only 2 buildings left when I knew him. As old as he was he cleaned better than any full time custodian. I visited him in the hospital just a day or two before he died. He looked and talked really well. It was a shock to me when he died. I always have been glad to have known him. It is good to hear he had children who were and are active members of the LDS Church. I don't remember Floren being active. He was such a good friend.
Respectfully, Leon Gay retired teacher still living in Milford.

We´ll miss our dear friend Howard, but know that he is happy to be reunited with his sweetheart Joan. It was our privilege to first meet Howard in Cottage Grove, Oregon and later in Eugene. We reconnected in Cedar Hills, Utah when we moved into his ward. Our golfing group is 2/3 gone on to the 19th hole. True friends!
