Howard LeRoy Bristor, 85, of Fairbury, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at his home on August 24, 2025. He was born on January 22, 1940, in Fairbury to Harvey and Elnora Bristor.

On February 12, 1966, Howard married Edith "Carol" Crisler of Berthoud, Colorado. Together they made their home in the Denver area, where they raised their children, before moving back to Fairbury in 1984.

Howard proudly served in the United States Navy for six years as a Journalist. Following his service, he worked in retail sales for Montgomery Ward and later for Fairbury Public Schools.

A man who never knew a stranger, Howard enjoyed visiting with people wherever he went. He loved Nebraska football, the Denver Broncos, fishing, and spending time at garage sales.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Edith Carol Bristor; his parents, Harvey and Elnora Bristor; his sisters, Ramona King and Sherry Knudson; his brother, Leigh (Mike) Bristor; and his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Bristor.

Howard is survived by his children: Lorrie (Scott) Noakes of Longmont, Colorado; Chris (Brian) Stewart of Fairbury; Jason (Meily) Bristor of Delaware; and Kim (Corey) Clark of Fairbury. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Todd Stewart of Fairbury, Morgan (Cody) Lee of Fairbury, Brandon Kelly (Lindsay) of Pennsylvania, Courtney (Michael) Oliva of Maryland, Mason Bristor of Delaware, Ryan Gooden of Colorado, Heather Stewart (RJ) of Colorado, and Kadey (Ruben) Vite of Colorado; along with 11 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings: Leta (Bob) Fisbeck of Fairbury, Vickie Kuehl of Loveland, Colorado, Phyllis Bullock of Berthoud, Colorado, and Harvey Bristor of Iowa; his sister-in-law, Connie Crisler of Keller, Texas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The family was assisted with arrangements by Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home.
