Howard W Collins Jr.

Howard W. Collins, Jr., age 83, of Neptune, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home on February 3, 2025.
Howard was born on July 28, 1941, in Teaneck, New Jersey to Howard and Marie Collins. He graduated from Park Ridge High School, Park Ridge, New Jersey in1959, then graduated from Ryder College in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He met the love of his life, Judy Collins, while in college, they married shortly thereafter.
After graduating college Howard worked in commercial and residential construction, then founded Collins Construction Company in 1975. He managed renovation and new construction projects of all sizes and types, including office buildings, warehouses, schools, banks, police and fire stations, and more. His clients included many local small businesses, municipalities, national and international corporations, including Mastercard, Volvo and Ricoh. Noteworthy projects include one of the first uninterrupted power supply computer learning centers in the country for Ricoh, as well as their 150,000 square foot U.S. corporate headquarters in Westfield, New Jersey, both of which are still active today.
Howard retired in 2002 when he and Judy relocated to Monmouth County to enjoy spending more time with friends and family. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Judy Collins on March 10, 2024, and sister Marie Collins. He is survived by his sister Valerie Daly of Warwick, New York, daughter Sharon Collins of Neptune, New Jersey, son Stephen Collins, his wife Kim Collins and grandchildren Jack and William Collins of South Glastonbury, Connecticut, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Howard is remembered for his devotion to his family, playful sense of humor, love of fishing and the outdoors, and always wanting to help others. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis, his wife's unbelievable culinary creations, listening to and making music, and spending time at the beach in New Jersey, Florida and elsewhere.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 12-1:30pm, with a eulogy service from 1:30-2pm, on Monday, February 10, at Ely Funeral Home, Neptune, New Jersey. www.elyfuneralhome.com
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Howard's memory to the American Cancer Society or the New Jersey Fish and Wildlife Bureau's Wildlife Habitat Supporter Program.
