Howard Leslie Davis, 78, of
Springfield, Oregon, walked on January 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 24, 1947, in
McMinnville, Oregon, Howard lived a life full of purpose, pride, and compassion.
Howard spent his early years with his grandmother, Elizabeth Leno Lafferty, who played a formative role in shaping his values and love of family. At just 17, Howard enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served honorably for over three years aboard the USS *Jason*. His time in the service instilled in him a deep sense of discipline and loyalty, qualities that guided him throughout his life.
After returning to Oregon, Howard built a career as a Master Welder. His craftsmanship and teaching ability inspired many, and his company, Howard's Welding, became a testament to his skill and dedication. He took great pride in mentoring others in his trade, always eager to share his knowledge.
As a proud member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Howard held his heritage close to his heart and carried his cultural identity with deep respect and honor.
In his personal life, Howard found joy in the great outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and ride horses, but perhaps nothing brought him more joy than cruising on his Harley-Davidson. Known for his humor and his ability to make others smile, Howard will be remembered as a man who truly lived life to the fullest.
Howard is survived by his devoted wife, Sib Davis; his brother Marvin Davis, sister Cheryl Menzies, brother Leland Lane, his son Howard Leslie Davis Jr.; and his wife Elizabeth, and their children Angelina, Joshua (boo-boo), Daneyella, Londyn, and Paris Davis, his daughter, Nicki Davis, mother of Jamison, Nikolai and Kora Lynn Davis.
