With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Joe L. Davis, who left this world on February 11, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on May 21, 1940, in Athens, Alabama, Joe grew up with a spirit full of resilience and determination. He moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he built a life characterized by hard work and dedication as a typesetter.

Joe was a beloved husband to his wife, Rubye Davis. His warmth and humor brought joy to all who knew him, and his steadfast love for his family will be deeply missed.

In celebration of Joe's life and legacy, a public viewing will be held at James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 4:00 PM. A family hour will take place at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, February 21st, starting at 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Joe will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, 1200 Elmwood St, Detroit, MI 48207, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
