Howard E. Dunsing Jr.

Yarmouth - Howard "Bud" E. Dunsing, Jr., 91, of South Yarmouth, formerly of Brockton, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, just days after the passing of his beloved wife of 69 years, Patricia A. (Croker) Dunsing.

Bud enjoyed a long and fulfilling career, working for the Brockton Enterprise for 44 years. Prior to that, he served his country during the Korean War and worked for the Stars and Stripes newspaper. A lifelong supporter of New England sports, Bud was a passionate fan who loved to cheer on his teams. He took great pride in his home, always maintaining the greenest grass in the neighborhood and surrounding his yard with lush, vibrant rose bushes.

Bud is survived by his son, Howard "Buddy" Dunsing, III and his wife, Nancy; his daughter, Denise O'Donnell and her late husband, Kenneth O'Donnell; and his late sister, Barbara (Dunsing) Gates.



He was also a devoted grandfather to Melissa Dunsing and her husband, Joshua Poisson, Sarah Dunsing, Kerry O'Donnell-Arnold and her husband, Daniel Arnold, and Molly O'Donnell and her fiancé, David Barrows. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews who he thought highly of.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours for Bud and Patricia on Monday, February 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, Morris O'Connor Chapel, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth, MA. Burial will be private and will be scheduled at a later date.
