Howard Griffore Obituary
Howard J. Griffore, age 86 of Port Hope, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family, under hospice care.
He was born on December 11, 1937 in Saginaw to the late Howard & Emily (Nagel) Griffore. Howard and Patricia Griffore were united in marriage on January 31, 1958 in Detroit. She preceded him in death on August 26, 2020. Howard Served in the US Coast Guard from 1957-1960, serving as the Lighthouse Keeper of the Eastern Point Lighthouse in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Howard worked as a plant engineer for Ford Motor Company for 30 years. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Port Hope. He enjoyed family get togethers, smoking his pipe, cajun music, and dancing. He loved to be with his family.
He is survived by his children: Babette (Dale) Carney of St. Clair, Bill (Theresa) Griffore of Port Austin, Annette (Marcus) Lord , Janette (Greg) Lee of Sante Fe, NM, Evette (Keith) Jacobson of Davison, 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach.
