Mr. Howard Joe Hamilton, age 96, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Howard was born on Sunday, November 18, 1928, in Dalton, Georgia, to the late Mr. Hugh Hamilton and the late Mrs. June Warmack Hamilton.
In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mrs. Vada Lamb Hamilton, as well as his sons, Frank Hamilton, Leighton Hamilton, and Allen Hamilton. Howard is also preceded in death by his brother, Will Moore Hamilton, as well as his sisters, Francis Mathis and Mary Caroline Hamilton.
Howard is survived by his sister, Gertrude Burns; his nephews, Hugh (Elizabeth) Hamilton, Billy (Brenda) Hamilton, Hugh (Carol) Burns, and Brad (Vickie) Burns; his great nieces and great nephews, Tracie Nesbitt, William (Jennifer) Hamilton, Brandon (Jessica) Phillips, and Christen (Lucas) Nations; as well as his great-great nieces and great-great nephews, Carly Nesbitt, Max Nesbitt, Katherine Nesbitt, Carson Hamilton, Carson Phillips, Chandler Phillips, and Trevor Nations.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate Howard's life will be conducted on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the Sanctuary of ChristChurch Presbyterian with Rev. Eric Geil officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for visitation on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers are Brandon Phillips, Lucas Nations, Hugh Burns, Brad Burns, Hugh Hamilton, and Billy Hamilton.
