Howard L. Jeffery, 83, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, peacefully at home after battling cancer, leaving behind a loving family and friends. Howard was born on November 3, 1941, in Arjay, Kentucky, the son of the late John and Hazel Onkst Jeffery. He was a lifelong resident of Bell County and a member of the Baptist faith. Howard worked for Delta Natural Gas for 39 years before retiring.

He was preceded in death by several sisters, Ruby Engle, Ruth Miller, Evelyn Cinnamon-Johnson, Irene Jeffery, Reva Greer, Maxine Garland, and Margie Woolum.

Howard is survived by his wife, Fayrene Inman Jeffery; daughter, Tammy and husband, Daniel; son, Lee and wife, Tina; son, Mitchell; granddaughter, Alexis and husband, Kyle; and twin brother, Harold and wife, Betty. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and his dog, Tucker.

The family expresses gratitude to the Bluegrass Hospice staff and chaplain for their compassionate care.

Howard chose cremation, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements were entrusted to Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Jeffery Family.
