Howard Knight Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home - Midwest City on May 25, 2025.
Howard Payne Knight Jr. "Buddy" passed from this earth on Wednesday May 7, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Buddy was a loving husband and father. He is survived by Joy, his wife of 55 years. His three children; "Tripp, Rhonda and Shelly and his four grandchildren; Devin, Tristan, Ethan and Abby. He is also survived by his brother Wayne Knight of Orlando, Florida.
Buddy was a career military veteran serving 2 years in the US Navy Reserves and 20 years active duty with the US Air Force. He was a marksman and a quality assurance inspector and very good at his job. Upon retirement from the military, he spent another 17 years in federal service until his health forced him into retirement.
Buddy's love of music encouraged and inspired him to become a self-taught musician and singer. His love for the guitar was boundless. Music was instilled in all who knew him. He was the founding member and singer for more than one band in his life. Music brought him peace and so much joy. Buddy was a boy scout and lived his life following and eventually setting the rules. He was a proud man, a good man.
Buddy rode his beloved motorcycle as much as he could. He considered it his stress relief. He spent many a mile riding around the closest lake. He liked nothing better than sunshine and a light breeze to go and ride for a little while.
His viewing will be Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Barnes Friederich and Pope Funeral Home in Midwest City from 12PM - 8 PM, and a formal visitation with family receiving friends from 6PM - 8PM. Military burial to follow in Stafford, Virginia at Ramoth Church.
