Howard Cummings Obituary
Rushville, IL—Howard Lee Cummings, 79, of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, Illinois. He was born May 26, 1942, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Roy and Gola (Felix) Cummings.
Howard graduated from Petersburg Harris High School in 1960. He retired from CIPS/Ameren in 2003 after working for the company for 40 years. He was an avid history buff and airplane enthusiast.
Howard is survived by a son, Troy (wife, Kim) Cummings of Petersburg; grandson, Mitchell Cummings of Nashville, Tennessee; granddaughter, Allison Cummings of Kansas City, Missouri; and, his companion of nine years, Vicki Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna; a son, Darin Cummings; and his siblings, Elvis Cummings, William Cummings, Charles Cummings, Hazel Einfelt and Corrine Kirby.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, Illinois. Cindy Baugher will be the officiant. Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg is assisting Howard's family with services.
Memorials in Howard's name may be made to VFW Post 6871 (Petersburg).
