Howard Phillip Lenhardt Jr.

Howard Phillip Lenhardt Jr. passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at his home in Niles, Michigan with family by his side.
Howard was born on December 1, 1946 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the late Howard Phillip Lenhardt Sr. and Julia Judith "Judy" (Lenkart) Lenhardt.
Howard leaves behind his wife, Barbara (Puchala) Lenhardt; his children, Phillip Lenhardt and his wife, Angela Lenhardt of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Shawn Lenhardt and his wife, Marie Lenhardt of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Jennifer (Lenhardt) Scally and her partner Justin Wells of Niles, Michigan, and James Lenhardt of Niles, Michigan, as well as his grandchildren, Aleister Lenhardt, Isabelle Lenhardt, Aiden Lenhardt, Audrey Scally, Connor Lenhardt, and Lillian "Sam" Scally.
Howard served as a Corporal in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Mark Catholic Church and the American Legion Niles-Buchanan.
Howard enjoyed working with electronics, becoming an amateur ham-radio operator after he returned from Vietnam and later an active member of the local ham-radio club with the call sign KB8LGV. He also became a certified Skywarn storm spotter.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Senior Nutrition Services of Southwest Michigan, Meals on Wheels.
Visitation for Howard will be on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 9:30am to 11:00am with a Rosary to be prayed at 9:00am at St. Mark Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3 N 19th St. Niles, Michigan 49120.
