Howard P. Rombey Jr. ("Skipper"), age 68, was peacefully Promoted to Glory surrounded by his loving family and friends, on Saturday, January 31 st , 2026.

Skipper was a lifelong resident of Monmouth Beach, NJ, and enjoyed all the small community-oriented waterfront town had to offer. Skipper enjoyed participating in the ARC basketball and bowling programs, helping out at the MB Firemen's Fair, boat and jet ski rides on the Shrewsbury River, going to Great Adventure, hanging out at the beach and pool, going to the Pt. Pleasant arcade, and traveling with his family, especially their annual trips to Lake George, NY, and Sanibel and Ft. Myers Beach, FL. Like his dad, Skipper was an ever-suffering Mets and Jets fan, and the two of them watched many, many games together.

Skipper was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and "uncle", who was quick with a smile, loved to share, be a helper, and joke around with his family and friends. Skipper was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Alice (Crossley) Rombey and his brother David Rombey, all of Monmouth Beach. He is survived by his uncle Frank West of West Long Branch, his cousins Frank (Wendy) West of North Carolina and William
(Joan) West of West Long Branch, Roberta Adams of Monmouth Beach and her children Leigh (Jon) Seeley of Texas, Steven (Kayla) Adams of Georgia, and Andrea (Brian) Fitzgerald of Shrewsbury, and her grandchildren Charlotte and Elizabeth Seeley, and Delaney Fitzgerald.

Skipper will be missed by all. We hope that he is now reunited with his parents and brother and they are together taking the frequent car rides to 'check out' what's new in the area and at Costco that they enjoyed so much.

All services for Skipper will be private. For messages of condolence, please visit Skipper's page of tributes at www.woolleyboglioli.com.
