Howard E. Schlight

HOWARD E SCHLIGHT (61) lost a courageous battle against sepsis on 9/17/17. He was born to Orin and Alys Rhee (Ball) Schlight. August 8, 1956. Over the years, he has worked in the data management field for many employers, including AlliedSignal (Bendix/Honeywell), the City of Kansas City MO and The Federal Reserve Bank KC. Howard was currently employed by Epiq (DTI, LLC) in Kansas City, KS. He leaves behind wife Michelle Schlight, children Rachael Sue Hensley (Brian) and Norman Schlight, cherished grandchildren Serenah and Malachi Hensley, brothers J Orin Schlight and James (Jim) Schlight, an aunt Jean Ball, several cousins and a multitude of friends made over the years. Family and friends are invited to share their memories at a casual memorial scheduled for Wednesday October 4th at 2:30 pm at the Lodge at Hollis Renewal Center, 11414 Kansas Avenue, Kansas City, KS. Visitation will extend until 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, Howard would have suggested a donation to an agency along the lines of these: The National Park Foundation, KSDS Assistance Dogs, Inc., Heartland Therapeutic Riding, Inc, Humane Society, or your local domestic abuse safehouse or CASA agency.
