Howard Surerus Obituary
Howard J. Surerus, 85, of Cavalier, ND, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier.
Howard James Surerus was born to Ernest Earl and Myrtle Emily (Ault) Surerus on November 15, 1939, in Cavalier, ND. He married Dorothea Kae Berg June 3, 1961, at her parent's farm near Doyon, ND.
Howard was an avid hunter and spent many years in the construction business, building bridges across North Dakota.
Howard is survived by children: Kristene (Whitefish Bay, WI), Kelly and Sherri (Lisbon, ND), and Kory (Cooperstown, ND); grandchildren: Melinda (Wahpeton, ND), Ernest and Shantelle (Rutland, ND), and Dannielle and Gunnar (Grand Forks, ND), and great-grandchildren: Eric, Theodore, Emeerah, Ollie and Maverick.
