Mr. Howard Joseph Vestal, 95, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025. He was born March 16, 1930 in Yadkin County to the late Israel and Ethel Vestal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Vestal, Arthur Ray Vestal; his sisters, Irene Hooker, Shirley Durham, Ruby Cook, Patty Payne, and Jean Vestal. Mr. Vestal was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army. He was retired from the Austin Company. Howard and his wife Bonnie farmed most of their life. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and squirrel hunting with his daughters. He is survived his beloved wife of 72 years, Bonnie Shore Vestal; his daughters, Chritine (Mickey) Willard, Donna (William) Petree; granddaughter, Monica (Brian) Groce; grandsons, Jason Willard, Nathanael Petree; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Groce; great-grandsons, Brandon Groce, Joshua Groce. The family will receive friends, Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Pastor James Mahan and Pastor Tim Pardue officiating. Burial will follow at The Way of Life Church Cemetery with military honors by Yadkin VFW Post #10346. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Vestal family.
