Howard Whims Obituary

Howard Eugene Whims, 86 of Frederick passed away on Wednesday August 23, 2023 following a brief illness. Born September 27, 1936, he was the Son of the late F.Melvina (Whims) Offutt and Maurice Bernard "Duck" Ambush both of Frederick. He was the husband of Charlotte M. Whims. Howard graduated from Lincoln High School in Frederick. He attended Bowie State Teachers College. Howard joined the Frederick County Sheriff's Office in 1970 serving over 21years. Howard was appointed as Chief Deputy by incoming Sheriff Robert Snyder in 1982. Howard rose to the rank of Major in 1984. Howard Graduated from the FBI National Academy in 1984. Howard is Survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlotte. Sons Aldana, Vaughn, Darryl and daughter Cassandra Whims. Funeral services will be Friday, September 1, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Rollins Life Celebration Center, 330 Catoctin Ave, Frederick, Maryland. The wake will precede the service at 11:00 am. Howard Whims
