Hoyt Lindsey Cagle, age 84, went home to the Lord on February 27, 2025. He was a resident of Bryant, AL.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Hoyt’s life will be held on Monday, March 3rd at 12:00 PM EST in the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Jim Hixon officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at the Bryant Chapel on Sunday, March 2nd from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM EST and on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Hoyt was known for his fun-loving spirit and his love for flowers. He was a carpenter in trade from a young boy which he learned to build houses from his dad and granddad. His unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was a central part of his life.
Hoyt is survived by his wife and companion of 64 years, Joyce Cagle; his daughters, Debra Abernathy (Larry) and Brenda Cagle; grandchildren Britney (Bryan) Williams and Blake (Shana) Abernathy; great-grandchildren Jace and Layla Abernathy, Isaac (Katelyn) Moreland, Nevaeh Williams, and Trinity Williams. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen (Levernon) Higdon, Joanne Smith, and Wanda Black. The family is excitedly anticipating the arrival of another great-grandchild due in May (Blake & Shana) and a great-great-grandchild due in June (Isaac & Katelyn).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Arvie "Cotton" Cagle.
Hoyt's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hospice of Alabama for their compassionate care during this time.
