Hubert Lee Johnson

Hubert Lee Johnson, 76, of Oak Hill passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born April 12, 1948 in Scarbro, WV he was the son of the late Myles William and Gretna Wriston Johnson.

Hubert was a 1968 graduate from Mt. Hope High School, was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran, after the Marines he worked for Elkem Metals as a weigher in the packing department for over 30 years. In his leisure he enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley motorcycle, and just loved being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by brother, Tom Johnson; and 2 sisters, Kay Cox and Susie Johnson.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife, Judy Cogar Johnson; son, Richard Johnson (Erin); daughter, Rachel Johnson;8 grandchildren, Jayden Johnson, Carter Johnson, Addy Johnson, Lily Johnson, Eleora Johnson, Myles Johnson, Sophia Johnson, and Finley Johnson; 2 brothers, Grover Johnson and Allen Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.

Visitation for friends will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill.
