Richard Larry Curry, 79, of Oak Hill passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley with his loving family by his side.
Born June 11, 1946 in Monaville, WV he was the son of the late Joe Curry and Myrtle Riffe Curry.
Richard was a minister preaching the Gospel all over as he had 8 different churches in Mingo County and 4 churches in Fayette County and he loved all his church families. He was very passionate preaching the Gospel and there were 2 churches that really became a home to him and they were Cornerstone Christian Center in Dingess, WV where he was a member for 20 years and Daystar Worship Center in Kilsyth, WV where he was a member for 5 years. In his leisure he enjoyed watching sports especially WVU as he was an avid fan, traveling, and eating and then taking naps. He never met a stranger as he could carry on a conversation with anyone. He loved living for the Lord and laughing just enjoying life to the fullest and most of all he enjoyed being surrounded by his family. He would tell everyone he was the baby of the family and the last survivor of all his siblings.
Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by brothers, Billy Joe Curry, Bobby Curry, and James Curry; and sister, Carol Phelps.
Those left to cherish his wonderful and precious memory include his loving wife, Cheryl McKnight Curry; and 2 daughters, Myrtle Curry and Crystal McNeely (Floyd).
