Hugh Hillaker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Aria Cremation Service and Funeral Home - Irving on Dec. 24, 2024.
Hugh Joseph Hillaker
Born: April 29, 1949, Flint, Michigan
Died: December 20, 2024, Irving, Texas
Hugh lived in Grand Prairie, Texas with his wife, Merri-jo Hillaker, of 33 years, and two favorite cats, Michael and Missy. He worked at Kone Elevator Company for almost 40 years, working in the engineering department. Hugh was a 33-year member of First Baptist Church of Fort Worth, serving many years as a deacon. His Lord was #1 in his life. He was passionate about his faith, family, and friends, and his favorite pastime was playing bridge. He also was an avid coin collector, accumulating a highly recognized collection of commemoratives.
Survivors include his wife, Merri-jo Hillaker, of Grand Prairie, Texas, his beautiful daughters, Jennifer Hellman of Georgetown, Texas, and Kaitlyn Wages of Keller, Texas, and his adored grandchildren Jack, Emma, Eli, Ruby, Presleigh, Pierce and Shepherd. Two additional children Hugh helped raise and adored after a tragedy (Merri-jo's brother Cliff's children) are Renee Stivison and David Lau. Hugh is also survived by his only sibling, Danny Hillaker of Byron, Michigan.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 am December 27th at First Baptist Church, Ft Worth, followed by a catered lunch for all in attendance.
