Mr. Hugh C. Spradlin, age 81 of Jacksboro, passed into his savior's arms, on Sunday, April 28, 2024 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Hugh was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church, and was retired from the Tennessee Department of Revenue, Tax Payer Services. He was a graduate of Cumberland College and served as a captain in the US Army while serving in Vietnam as a medical supply officer. Hugh loved music, playing guitar with church choir, family get-togethers, and his many friends at Rickard Ridge restaurant. Preceded in death by parents, Harrison and Waco Spradlin; Brothers, Harley, Whitman, George, Jim, Robert, Leslie and Henry.
Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Sue Spradlin; Son, Benjamin Spradlin and wife, Crystal; Grandsons, Ethan and Evan Spradlin; Sister, Anna Mae Spradlin; Sister-in-law, Marie Spradlin; Many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. David Aljadir, the Nurses and Staff of UT Cancer Institute, and UT Hospice Group for their diligent care and concern throughout Hugh’s battle.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home with Funeral Services to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Steve Ross officiating. Family and friends will meet on Thursday, May 2, 2024, 10:30 AM at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Bakers Forge Cemetery for 11:00 AM Graveside Services and Interment. Military Honors will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Campbell County. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Campbell County Cancer Association, P.O.
