Hugh C. Stoermer, 87, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Klein Center in West Burlington, surrounded by his loving family.

He was very sociable and made a friend anywhere he went. He loved nothing more than to be with his family or at a family reunion and he would never pass up the opportunity to relish in a vodka squirt.
He is survived by his seven children, Marjorie (Bill) Fry of Burlington, Sally Stoermer-Worrell of Gallatin, Tenn., David (Bo) Stoermer of Dixon, Ill., Michael (Vickie) Stoermer of Urbandale, Wade (Robin) Stoermer of Columbia, Mo., Heidi (Douglas) Watts of Burlington, and Holly (Jason) Crabb of Davenport; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister Susan Drawve of Stockton, Calif., a nephew and a great niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Colleen.
Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.
