I never met you but the words below paint the picture of a life of service lived to it's fullest that touched so many. While your departure is so obviously painful to those left behind, I pray that you're joined now with your wife, your love, once more. From one Airman to another, rest in peace, brother.

I enjoyed every minute of time I spent with Hugh in my work in the Vascular Lab at Mercy. His sharp sense of humor and his special point of view on any subject was always a pleasure to hear. I live off of Frazier Ave and I would see Hugh and his wife sitting on the porch. Since his wife passed, I haven't seen him out there much, but I always look as I pass the house.
Please accept my sincere sympathy for those that survive Hugh. He will surely be missed.

I'm truly gonna miss my friend Hugh, we shared some really great times together over the years... Hugh loved life and he loved adventure, I mean who else would drive cross country in a GTO with a Teardrop Trailer a wife and two dogs! Thats the Hugh I knew, he flew by the seat of his pants and always pushed the envelope ... His stories over lunch at Bubba's BBQ were legendary... stories of dating a young Sunbeam Bread girl named Barbara, stories of a scared young kid being shipped off to "Nam" .. stories of trying to adjust after the war, all the stories told in that deep barratone voice of his that I wish I could hear once more. A Loving Husband, A Proud Father, an American Warrior and One Tough SOB that always had your back.... thats the Hugh Warner I will miss ~ Goodbye my friend tell Barb I said hi ...
