Humberto "Jerry" Pena Jr.

With deep love and gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce that a graveside service, with military honors, will be held to celebrate the life of Humberto "Jerry" Peña, Jr. The service will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
Jerry was born on November 2, 1943, in El Paso, Texas, and peacefully passed into the presence of his Lord on January 3, 2025, in Peoria, Arizona. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication to his family and community.
He is cherished and survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Nellene Gladney Peña, and their two devoted sons, Jerry René Peña, Sr. (Paula) of Peoria, and James Edward Peña (Loretta) of Woodland Hills, California. Jerry was a proud grandfather to Jerry René Peña, Jr. (Mariah) and Casey Reed Peña (Ashley) and a doting great-grandfather to little Coleson Peña. He also leaves behind three loving nieces and four dear nephews.
After faithfully serving his country in the Naval Air Division of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, Jerry returned to El Paso to pursue his dream of owning and operating a successful auto body repair business, Customcraft Body and Paint. He was also part owner of Rio Grande Auto Parts. Jerry and Nellene were active members of Cielo Vista Baptist Church, where they formed many treasured friendships and shared their faith. Jerry found joy in his involvement with the Horseless Carriage Club of El Paso and his time as a private airline pilot.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, H. Jerry Peña, Sr., and Dorothy Mulligan Peña, as well as his sister, Margaret Randle. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings, Dottie McCarthy (Patrick) and John Peña.
We rejoice in the promise that Jerry is now resting in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, and we look forward with hope to the day we will be reunited with him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
