Hunter Nachreiner Obituary
Hunter was born September 10, 2002 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the son of Jeremy Nachreiner and Tara Lunz. He graduated from Huntley High School and was currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he was a junior majoring in Psychology and had hoped to continue earning a master's degree. He was interning as a Behavior Technician working with autistic children. During High School he played travel baseball. Hunter had a smile that could light up a room. He was sweet, kind and always for the underdog. He enjoyed skateboarding, being with family, his girlfriend Lillian Hardy and friends and loved his rescue cat gnocchi. Hunter was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Tara (Andy) Lunz, Jeremy (Heather Hickey) Nachreiner, by his sister, Cameron, by his grandparents, Gail and Joe Liebig, Ruth Ann Cameron, Dennis (Tracy) Nachreiner, Diane Carrozza and Rocky Sammauro. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles. Hunter was preceded in death by his grandma, Marcia Nachreiner and grandpa, Robert Cameron.
A celebration of life service will be held from 12 Noon until 4pm on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the Bull Valley Country Club-1311 Club Rd, Woodstock, IL 60098.

Although I never met Hunter in person, I knew that he was the boyfriend of my goddaughter Lillian. They had been dating for a couple of years so I knew that he was near and dear to her heart. We are so sorry to hear of this tragic loss to the Nachreiner family, Lil, and the world. Hunter had so much promise and he will be sorely missed. May God strengthen his family and friends.

Hunter and my son Fox were college roommates at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. I will never forget the sense of relief upon meeting Hunter at freshman drop off knowing that my son would have a great dorm mate, as they clicked immediately and became fast friends. Fox considered Hunter a good bud from that day forward, and made lasting memories with him and his crew of friends as they navigated college and life on the cusp of adulthood at UWM. We were so very shocked and saddened to hear about Hunter´s tragic passing and like many, are trying to wrap our heads and hearts around this unspeakable loss. Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends who knew and loved Hunter. Forever changed, forever grieving, we see you in your heartbreak and hold space and understanding for the heaviness of having to say goodbye to a loved one too soon.

The 1st time I met the children I Took Jeremy, Hunter & Cameron to a Cubs game & it was a chilly day. We all still had fun, but my 1st memory was a 6 yr old Hunter sitting on my lap & I zipped his little self in my sweatshirt because he was cold & the zipper broke & wouldn't upzip. Hunter never became scared, as him & I made a game out of it, playing with a stuffed animal & I funny voices & we laughed out butts off! That day I knew this beautiful boy who just met me, trusted me & immediately fell in love.

Hunter joined our family for apple picking for my birthday. He and Lillian met us at the orchard and we had so much fun eating and picking honey crisp apples. Our hearts are broken but we will remember our times together with love.

I had the privilege of knowing Hunter during our high school years. Although time and distance brought us apart since beginning college, I will always be grateful for the memories we made together. Hunter was an amazing, kind, compassionate person with a bright future ahead of him. He worked with my son Gavin to help him manage his autism and guide him with molding his future. Hunter was always patient, never was rattled, and loved what he did. He spoke often of his family, girlfriend, and his newest addition, Gnocchi. A light has left this world, but the sky has a new star. I wish there was a way to reverse this. Love to all that knew him.
