Jared “Hunter” Smith, 29, of Trumann passed from this life on Thursday, January 15, 2026. He was born on August 16, 1996 in Blytheville to Jerry McMahon and Pam Smith.
Hunter was a Christian and attended Church of God in Marked Tree. He was proud of his education, earning two associate degrees from Arkansas State University—one in Computer Repair and Networking and another in HVAC. He had a natural talent for working with his hands and enjoyed learning how things worked.
Hunter enjoyed playing video games, building models, spending time with his friends, and working on hands-on projects. He was known for his kind heart, quiet humor, and loyalty to those he loved. He was employed with Jonesboro Public Schools, where he worked hard and took pride in what he did.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Betty Smith; grandfather, Lynn Smith; and great-grandfather, Ernie Tucker.
He is survived by his mother, Pam Smith of Marked Tree; uncles, Eric Smith (Amy), Burl Smith (Patricia), Jeff Smith-Atkison, and Jonathan Atkinson; aunts, Nikki Lasiter (Alan) and Tracy Cookson (Jerry); and his friend who was more like a brother, Kyle Cartwright. Hunter also leaves behind a host of other family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
