Hurel White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by H. H. Roberts Mortuary, Inc. on Feb. 21, 2026.
Hurel Lee White was born on November 16, 1936 in Troy, Alabama. His proud parents were Loren Brown and Hurel White. Hurel Lee moved to Hamilton, Ohio in 1957. He later landed a job at Monarch Marketing Systems (later renamed Avery Dennison) in Dayton, Ohio. He then moved to Dayton where he worked for 38 years until his retirement in 2003.

Hurel Lee attended Academy High School in Troy, Alabama where he met and married the love of his life Sarah C. (Terry) White. Their union lasted well over fifty years. Hurel Lee was a son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was loved deeply by us all. Hurel Lee enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing, traveling, shopping, attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events and most of us all, Sunday dinners with his wife Sarah and the family and friends that stopped by.

He was preceded in death by his parents Loren Brown and Hurel White; wife, Sarah; daughter, Jennie; son, Gregory A. White; sisters: Mary Jane Newberry, Minnie Jones, Dorothy Nicholson; brother, Billy; uncles: Odis White, Ben White; brothers-in-law: Earnest terry, Sanford D. "Bo" Terry and Donald "Donnie" Terry.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons: Harvey Ozel (Julie) Lee, Kenneth D. White and Hurel (Rhonda) White. His grandchildren: Omari (Erica), Aisha White, Deyana (Christopher) Turner, Rodney Ozel (Brittney) Lee, Davon White, Christian White, Fred (Delores) Vann), Branden Essick, Darren (Tegan) King, Shekia White and Gregory White Jr.; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Carolyn (Stanley) McCloud, Betty Lois (Robert) Tucker, Vennie A. (Edward) Brown and Debra (Harold) Anderson, a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

His spirit lives on in the lives of his family, smiles of his loved ones and especially in his many beautiful grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He loved "all his children." His tireless work and sacrifice on the behalf of family will never be forgotten. We were grateful and blessed to have him in our lives.
