Hurshell Thomas Brown

Hurshell Thomas Brown, a resident of Bakersfield, California, passed away on
January 14, 2025. He was born August 10, 1928, in Checotah, Oklahoma, the eleventh child of Hudson and Vera Brown.
Hurshell moved to Arvin, California, in 1943. He served in the Army and later as a reservist. His chosen profession was oil drilling, a career he truly enjoyed. He was also a Boy Scout leader, a mechanic, welder and craftsman. He enjoyed swap meets and collecting anything he thought may have a future use. In 1952, Hurshell married Claudine and together they raised their daughters, Vicki and Sheila. Hurshell always worked hard, always protected, disciplined, and loved his family and the Lord. He was a man of integrity and faithfulness, a true friend and mentor.
Hurshell is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his wife Claudine, and their daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Steve Vancil. Hurshell is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Fred Plane, many grandchildren and extended family members.
Hurshell's kindness, sense of humor, and compassion for others will forever be missed by his family and all who knew him.
