Hylan Nunn Obituary
Contoocook, NH - Jake Nunn, 89, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024 after a long illness.
Born July 13, 1934, in Peacham, Vt to Winnifred (Powers) and Hylan I Nunn, Sr. Jake worked for Kearsarge Reel in Bradford for over 33 years driving tractor trailer trucks. He was a member of Kearsarge Lodge #23 Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Contoocook for 49 years. Jake served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. He was a resident of Contoocook for over 50 years.
Survivors include his sister Roberta Westcott of Penacook his sons, Jerry Flanders (Stephanie) of Contoocook, Scott Flanders (Beth) of Great Pond Maine, Hylan I. (Rusty) Nunn III of Strafford, Roger Nunn of Concord, Brian Nunn (Leona) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, his daughter Terry Ohlson-Martin (John) of Webster; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jake was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Nunn, his parents, his brothers Wallace and William, sister, Madonna Nunn and grandson, James Martin.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall, 513 Park Avenue, Contoocook.

Tony and I have fond memories of Uncle Jake and Aunt Ruth. Before we moved South we would meet them for breakfast or lunch at the Windmill Restaurant in Concord. We had many laughs and wonderful memories were made. Rest Peacefully Uncle Jake.

Cousin Jake loved cherry pie. I made him a pie once a week in the summer of 1959 when I lived with him and Goldie in Contoocook. I took care of Terry for them that summer while they worked.
I also lived with Jake's family my Freshman year of High School and took care of his sister Madonna.

I have very fond memories visiting both Jake and Ruth at their house on Pine Street in Contoocook, I went to school with Scott and have become good friends with Rusty and on occasion bump into Jerry. My sympathies go out to the entire family. Jake you will be so missed by those who you left behind. Doug Gourley
