He is survived by his wife Fern King, daughter Kathy Joyce of Jackson, TN, a son Steve R. King and Wife Cindy of Gilbertsville, KY, step daughters Karen Henderson of Benton, KY, Vickie Gaines of Nicholasville, KY and Mary Sue Morris of Paducah, KY; one brother Tony King of Calvert City, KY. He is also survived by grandchildren Chad King of Chatham, IL, Johnny Davis and Corey Davis both of Jackson, TN; great grandchildren Dax & Grayson King, Brigham Davis, Landon Davis, and Brooke Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Gertrude King; three brothers Ryan, McClain, and Derril King. He and his brother Derril are the original King Bros that opened a store in Benton, KY in 1950. Hyman loved to fish on KY Lake and was a big KY Wildcats Basketball fan. His radio time was the St. Louis Cardinals and Marshall County Football. He walked thousands of miles on the treadmill at various health clubs. He was a KY colonel, member of Calvert City VFW post 5739.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Mike Miller Park C/O Judges Office 1101 Main St. Benton, KY 42025. Hyman and his dogs often walked there. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 PM Saturday, May 14, 2011 in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Jones and Rev. George Culp Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held between the hours of 2-5 pm Saturday at the Collier Funeral Home.
